Mutual Aid Fire Response to the Tree Tavern in Wanaque

Just after 11 PM on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, the Ringwood Fire Departments were requested to respond mutual aid to Wanaque for a reported structure fire at the Tree Tavern. At that time, Wanaque FD units were busy on mutual aid assignments in Passaic and Wayne which both had working structure fires. SLFD Chief Doug Faber 250 had command at this fire and damage to the facility was minimal due to a quick knock down of the fire by Engine 251.

Tree Tavern owner Mike Ryan was quoted as saying, "After closing last night we had a fire in the building. Thanks to the swift and professional work of Wanaque, Pompton Lakes and Ringwood fire companies and the Wanaque First aid squad it was contained quickly. Damage was minimal because of their professionalism and volunteerism. We are grateful to them."
